Get to Perth international airport for midnight for the first leg of the flight to Singapore. Am stoked as I have managed to keep my luggage to a mere 13kgs.
Singapore of stop over was nice but short lived got to the gate early and had forgotten to pack long pants for visiting sacred sites so made a mad dash and got a couple of pairs of chinos and just made it back to the gate for boarding.
Arrived at Yangon international airport which is very basic easily made it through customs and have changed my US Dollars to kyats (pronounced 'chats') and gotten the taxi to the hotel.
The hotel classique inn is beautiful met up with parents and had some Asian fusion cuisine for lunch - not the food I was looking forward too but starving from not eating on the flight so made do.
Caught a taxi into the famous Scott Markets the largest and most famous market in Yangon. So many stores selling everything from food to jewellery. Spent time wandering around looking for water and some snack staples. Stayed for dinner where I had tofu stuffed with spring onion coriander and fish sauce from one of the street stalls which tasted incredible went back from seconds.
Returned to the hotel with the intention of getting some sleep after a long day of flying and taxis.
Found a supermarket the equivilent of the Australian Coles or Woolworth with a mix of Western and Asian food.
Yangon has a natural beauty to it - relatively untouched by the western world but with elements of it breaking through.
